Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 6 large jalapeños, halved and seeds removed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the jalapeños:
Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes (use gloves to avoid touching your skin directly with the peppers, as the oils can cause irritation).
  3. Cook the sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it’s browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat, and then remove from heat.
  4. Make the filling:
In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until everything is well combined and creamy.
  5. Stuff the jalapeños:
Spoon the sausage mixture into each jalapeño half, packing the filling in tightly.
  6. Bake:
Arrange the stuffed jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the filling is golden and bubbly on top.
  7. Serve:
Let them cool slightly before serving.
